Adebayo was a player who struggled for most of his first year with the Saddlers but made huge strides in his improvement to eventually earn a move to Championship outfit Luton Town.

Osadebe, who has just completed his first year with Walsall, had a difficult start to the season but impressed in the final months and former striker Adebayo has backed Osadebe to get even better.

“I knew how good Manny was,” he told the Express & Star

“I look at him and then look at myself and that’s exactly how I was in my first couple months at Walsall. I still speak to him now and I told him he just needs a run of games and the confidence will come back. Everyone loves him. He’s a nice guy. People will say what he’s like in the changing room, he’s bubbly. But when you don’t play those consistent games you don’t feel like yourself.

“For him it was about playing games and getting his confidence back up.

“I would have loved to play with Manny while he’s on this form. He’s scored great goals and that’s what he’s capable of.”
