Jack Rose - 8

The goalkeeper was without a doubt Walsall’s man of the match. He made two excellent close-range saves to deny Carlisle and ended his season in the perfect way with a clean sheet.

Hayden White - 6

A steady showing from White. Nothing special going forward or in defence but the basics covered.

Tom Leak - 7

A composed showing for Leak on only his fourth showing for Walsall. He could have done better when attacking in the opposition’s box, but in his own he was commanding.

James Clarke - 7

Similar to White, a fairly steady and comfortable afternoon for Clarke who hardly broke a sweat, because he did not have to against a timid Carlisle side.

Max Melbourne - 6

The left-back could have offered more going forward, particularly in the first half when he had space to run in to. He was also isolated in defence at times, but overall it was a secure showing.

Tyreik Wright - 6

Wright had flashes of brilliance and showed his pure talent at times. He did seem slightly laboured, though, and did not have as big an impact as he would like.

Sam Perry - 5

Perry is undoubtedly a talent but he looked lethargic in this fixture. He gave the ball away too often. However, he also played some neat forward passes at times.

Liam Kinsella - 5

Kinsella, as usual, worked hard and won the ball back but his quality in forward passes was lacking. Alongside Perry he sat too deep at times.

Emmanuel Osadebe - 7

A good showing from Osadebe who probably had the biggest impact among the Walsall attacking players. He was much better playing centrally and just missed that final touch or pass.

Josh Gordon - 6

A quiet afternoon for Gordon who pursued the defenders tenaciously but had little end product. He was isolated at times and often his runs in behind were ignored.

Caolan Lavery - 5

Unfortunately Lavery could have been the difference in this game with the last action of it, but he fell short. Overall he was similarly as quiet as Gordon, as the Saddlers failed to create much going forward. But when he was put through on goal in the final minute of the game he must score.
