The 41-year-old from Willenhall, who also owns a sports massage company and is a qualified personal trainer, has been running 'Kit Man Keeps Us Moving' sessions from his garden, going out live on the club's official Facebook page.

In the style of Joe Wicks's PE Lessons, Roe gets people moving every weekday morning from 10am with a range of fun dancing workouts.

"I'm a very active person, body and mind, and being in quarantine is making me climb the walls," he said.

"This is to offer something back to the community. I wanted to do something that was a bit of fun, a bit different and where you could let yourself go and have a laugh at yourself.

"The situation we're in will have an affect on people's health and wellbeing.

"That little bit of interaction is important, even if I say good morning to people commenting on the live stream, it brings a smile their face to know that they're recognised.

"The feedback we've had from that is amazing, it's brilliant.

"We've had minimal negatives, although you always get some, but it's been brilliant and uplifting.

"We've got people saying that it's the highlight of their day, others tagging other people in and encouraging them to do it.

"As a result I had a personal phone call from someone who works in the NHS and they said it's brightened up their day – that really resonated with me."

Since starting the daily sessions last week, Roe's audience has been growing – but he insists it's more about the fun than the numbers.

"The last check on my videos, we had over 9,000 people – it's been massive," he added.

"I don't think about it, I'm just looking at a screen at the end of the day.

"I'm used to putting myself out there and making myself look daft, if you can't laugh at yourself in such a time then you really need to evaluate things.

"The way I see it, it's the biggest social gathering that's physically possible at this time. It's one big garden party, without the alcohol.

"With the kit man role and my own business, I can't do anything at the moment.

"All I find myself working on is how to better myself, so I'm continuing to study more about the body and how things work, because I now and again assist with the medical team at Walsall.

"It's never a dull moment with me, I don't like sitting around and letting the grass grow, so I will find something to do."

The guest requests have started to flow in for Roe, with the club's mascot and captain – and it's something he is working on achieving in the future.

"I've been in contact with James Clarke, he made a comment like 'go Marc go', it was encouraging," he said.

"We've had two main requests, one that I do it with Swifty and the other is that we get some of the players.

"That is something I would love to do."
