Using today's opposing manager as an example, the 41-year-old says there's no quick fix to a club's problems, with the right manager needing time to create a squad.

He said: "If you look at Paul Hurst's record as a manager, all managers need time, there's so many experts now in the world where managers don't get that time, you don't need to prove anything to anybody.

"He's gone in with a squad full of players already there, it will probably take two or three windows to make that football club right, a similar scenario here.

"It doesn't happen overnight, there's no quick fixes out there.

"We can't complain about it, managers are assessed very quickly, that's the footballing world, that's why I don't listen to it.

"It doesn't concern me with time as a manager, all that concerns me in football is improving every aspect of the football club I'm at, that's what I've been brought in to do, getting everything absolutely spot on.

"If your time's up at a football club your time's up at a football club - all I'm focusing on is making sure we get better."

Despite some fans believing the 1-0 win at Morecambe could set the club on the right path up the league, Clarke is adamant that a lot of work is still to be done before the club reach a 'turning point.'

"It never goes away as a manager, you're out there coaching, working, trying to make players better, that's the end game," he added.

"Keep working with players, improving them, not just tactically and technically, but mentally as well, making sure that they're mentally in the right frame of mind to go out there and perform.

"We'll see how things go, there's a long way to call it a turning point, we're a long way off where I want us and where we're going to be aiming as a football club and I knew that was going to be the case - there's certainly no turning point yet, we have to focus on the next game and see where we are after that."
