Walsall re-enter reserve league

Walsall have confirmed they will enter a reserve league next season after opting against competing in one for the 2018/19 campaign.

The Saddlers will re-enter a development team into the Central League with all home matches to be played at Birmingham County FA.

While predominantly the team will be used to develop players aged 23 and under, senior players will also be able feature.

Alongside the reserve league, Walsall have also agreed to join the under-17 Midland Floodlit Youth League to allow their first-year scholars and under-16s to play competitive games.

The clubs under-18s will continue to compete in the EFL Youth Alliance.
