Following the Saddlers’ FA Cup loss at Bolton, Sharon Morris took to social media to say how her son has been left disappointed with his lack of playing time this season.

Morris has started 17 games and featured 26 times under Keates during the 2018/19 campaign.

But in a social media post that has now been deleted, his mother said being in and out of the team has affected his confidence.

Keates, though, has revealed Morris quickly apologised to him for his mum’s rant with the boss saying the incident has now been forgotten.

“I spoke to Kieron on Saturday night about what his mum said and he apologised straight away,” he said.

“I’m sure everyone can imagine the stick he has had from the other players.

“But it’s all forgotten now and he’ll train today as normal.”

Morris is out of contract at the end of the season and his mother’s post implied he is likely to leave the Banks’s Stadium in the summer.

It read: “My son’s contract ends at the end of the season but he has always tried his best for the club and he will be sorry to leave.

“I know for a fact sometimes your face don’t fit no matter what.

“He started very good this season, then dropped because the manager had new ideas.

“My son’s head has dropped and so has his confidence.”
