Boss Dean Keates is working around the clock to bolster his squad in time for the new campaign.

Additions are needed across all areas of the squad.

Here we look at four defenders worth considering.

Nathan Cameron

A free agent after leaving Bury, the defender has suffered two serious knee injuries in the past few years.

But his talent isn't in question with a number of Championship clubs having looked at him in the past.

Still just 26-years-old, Cameron is a commanding and powerful centre-back who is experienced for his age.

If kept fit, he could prove a shrewd addition.

Donervon Daniels

A local lad having come through the ranks at Albion, Daniels joined Rochdale on loan from Wigan last season and impressed to such an extent he was recalled by the title winning Latics.

But the 24-year-old didn't have his contract renewed and is now on the hunt for a new club.

A Montserrat international, he can play at both right-back and centre-half.

Aaron Martin

Another who has endured injury woes recently, Martin has been let go by Oxford.

But the ball-playing centre-back experienced promotion from League One and the Championship with Southampton.

He also impressed during spells with Yeovil and Coventry.

At 28-years-old, he should now be entering his prime.

Jack Fitzwater

Well known to Saddlers fans following an impressive loan stint at the Banks's last year.

Fitzwater is currently considering a new contract offer from Albion.

But even if he does stay at The Hawthorns another loan move could be on the cards.
