Walsall beat deadline as Justin Shaibu set for Blackburn Rovers clash
Jon Whitney will be able to field Justin Shaibu in Walsall's clash with Blackburn this evening after the club beat the EFL deadline to include him in the squad by less than five minutes.
Shaibu signed for Walsall this week on-loan from Brentford, and goes straight into the team for the match at Ewood Park.
However, the details of just how close the striker was from not being eligible was revealed today by Walsall club director Daniel Mole.
He tweeted: "Beat the @EFL deadline by 4 minutes yesterday, @FA ratified loan today. Justin Shaibu is available for selection this evening".
Shaibu helps bolster Whitney's attacking ranks following the departure of Tyler Roberts, who went back to parent club West Brom following the conclusion of his loan at the Banks's Stadium.
