The Saddlers announced yesterday they have extended their deal with their main sponsor – the town's biggest employer – until the end of the 2021/22 season.

It means the HomeServe name will continue to be on the front of Walsall's shirts while the firm’s branding will also be placed around the Banks’s Stadium.

The company's initial sponsorship deal began back in 2014. Walsall have not disclosed how much the new agreement is worth.

Gamble though insists it's a huge boost for the club.

"We have enjoyed a fantastic three years since we have been engaged with HomeServe and to get another five-year deal on the table is brilliant news," he said.

"I am looking forward to building the relationship because it’s been fantastic.

"In the past three years we have had a trip to Wembley and we have come very close to winning promotion.

"In football at League One and Championship level we don’t have the riches of the Premier League.

"That connection with the local community really is key to our success.

"Like HomeServe we have a special relationship with our local community.

"To know we have the unwavering and continued support of the town’s biggest employer gives us the confidence that we’ve got a bright future ahead on and off the pitch.”

John Greaves, HomeServes' brand director, said he hopes the deal shows fans how keen the company is to with with the community

"Our partnership with Walsall Football Club has never been about exposure and getting our name on the football shirts," he said.

"It was always about us investing in the club and investing in the community because this club is such a big part of the local community.

"It was our is saying to the community of Walsall that we are part of this community, that we believe in it and we want to invest in it.

"The brand exposure we get is nice addition. The principle attention is to invest in the community."
