The Saddlers missed out on a place in the Championship by a single point last season – with that disappointment leading to a host of players deciding to move.

But boss Jon Whitney has moved quickly to build a new squad with winger Josh Ginnelly becoming the club's 10th signing of the close-season on Thursday.

And Etheridge has hailed his manager's summer recruitment drive, with the gloveman impressed with all the new arrivals.

"The gaffer has brought in the right players," the Philippines international said.

"He's done a fantastic job bringing in the right characters.

"He spoke to me, Adam Chambers and James O'Connor about bringing in the right personnel.

"You have to get it right on the field and off the field because we work together day in, day out.

"I still feel part of the same team, it's just the faces that are different."
