Walsall loan Liam Roberts to Rushall Olympic

Walsall have loaned out Liam Roberts to non-league Rushall Olympic after re-signing the goalkeeper this week.

The 19-year-old will further his first-team experience at Dales Lane with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club until January.

Manager Dean Smith gave the green-light for the teenager to join the pics, now bossed by former West Brom midfielder Richard Sneekes.

He said: "It's all about getting game time. I am looking forward to the challenge of establishing myself in the team and playing regularly in what is a tough, competitive league.

"This move is going to really help in my overall development and I know that the gaffer will be keeping close tabs on me, so it's my chance to show him what I am capable of in match situations.

"Rushall have a new manager at the helm, and have brought in a number of players over the summer, so it's an exciting time for them. Hopefully, I can play my part in a successful first half of the season."
