Adam Chambers today said Walsall must learn from the disappointment of missing the play-offs this season.

A poor final third to the campaign – which has seen them win just two of the last 16 games – has seen the Saddlers once bright hopes of breaking into the League One top six flounder.

With two games remaining, Dean Smith's men now find themselves fighting to maintain a top half finish.

Midfielder Chambers, who at 33 is one of the most experienced players in a relatively young squad, insists there have been plenty of positives.

But he admits they must take notice of where things have gone wrong to avoid repeating the same mistakes next season.

"For a good part of the season we played well, performances were good and results went our way," he said.

"We tailed away a bit towards the end but we have had a lot of positives and it is something we need to learn from."
