Stourbridge 1 Hitchin Town 0 - Report

An Alex Fletcher header proved enough to hand Stourbridge the points in this tense contest at the War Memorial Ground.

But they had to work hard for the win against a Hitchin side reduced to ten men after just four minutes when keeper Charles Horlock was sent off for hand ball outside the area.

Midfielder Alex Marsh took over between the sticks and kept the Glassboys at bay until seven minutes before half-time when Fletcher headed in a Greg Mills cross.

The visitors pressed for an equaliser after the break but the closest they went was a dipping effort from substitute Marcus Gouldbourne which forced Stourbridge keeper Charlie Price into a save.

The Glassboys should have wrapped the game up 20 minutes from time when Mills put a low cross into the box only for substitute Andre Landell to fire over from in front of goal.
