Guiseley 3 Stourbridge 1 - Report

Stourbridge lost interest in this season's FA Cup after being eclipsed by National League North side Guiseley.

The West Yorkshire side went ahead on 19 minutes when central defender Will Thornton headed home from Alex Purver's free kick.

But the Glassboys were quick to grab an equaliser just three minutes later when Stuart Pierpoint flicked on Jordaan Brown's cross towards striker Luke Benbow who netted with an acrobatic overhead kick which left Guiseley goalkeeper Joe Green rooted to the spot.

In what proved an absorbing contest, the match turned on a mistake when Stourbridge central defender Paul McCone allowed a long distance clearance kick by Green to bounce in front of him which enabled former Barnsley player Koyode Odiejayi to get goal-side and then square the ball across the face of goal for substitute Lewis Walters to slot home from close range on 76 minutes.

Four minutes later, Guiseley put the game out of sight when one-time York city player Kaine Felix drove through the middle of the park, shaking off the attentions of two Stourbridge players before slotting home past shotstopper James Wren.
