The 22-year-old has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal at St Andrews after completing a five-tier jump to the Championship.

Scarr was one of Stourbridge's star men this season as they made it all the way to the third round of the FA.

The defender played in a famous win over League One Northampton and also scored in the third-round defeat at Wycombe Wanderers.

But while Glassboys boss Gary Hackett is losing a key member of his squad, the manager is delighted to see Scarr make the step up.

"We are all thrilled for Dan," Hackett said.

"He's a great lad and he deserves this chance.

"I said to him at the start of the season that if he got his head down and worked hard he could be playing in the Football League, and not just at the lower levels.

"I honestly think he's got huge potential and I think he can go on to great things.

"He's improved hugely over the last eighteen months or so.

"He's been so consistent in his performances, never panics on the ball, and he's been a very important part of some great times for us, especially this season.

"I can't speak highly enough of him."

Scarr joined Stourbridge from Redditch United in the summer of 2015, making his debut against his former club in a pre-season Worcestershire Senior Cup tie at the Valley.

He made a total of 84 appearances for the Glassboys and scored 11 goals, including the winner against Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Trophy last season.
