The Boro showed their intent early in the game as Joe Cuff fired a third minute effort wide.

After dominating the early stages Rangers took an 11th minute lead when a long throw found Jake Charles who fired low into the bottom corner.

The hosts were then wasteful in front of goal as they looked to double their lead with six shots within the opening 20 minute off-target.

They went close again before the break heading just over the bar before firing wide moments later.

Rangers continued their pressure in the second half and only goalkeeper Lloyd Rigby denied a headed effort.

The game burst into life in the final 10 minutes with Alistair Waddecar battling the post for Bridge at one end before Andrew Haworth rattled the bar at the other.

And then in the final few minutes Boro goalkeeper Adam Siviter denied Waddecar.
