Scarborough went ahead after just 15 minutes when a well taken corner fell for James Williamson who fired home from close range.

Five minutes later the hosts doubled their lead when Luke Loftus fired his shot home with a low left footed drive.

With just four minutes until the break Rangers pulled a goal back after a defensive mistake was capitalised on by Jake Charles to bring his side back to 2-1 at the break.

The visitors looked to regain their lead and Loftus cut inside the box before playing in Matty Dixon.

Athletic restored their advantage 11 minutes into the second half as following a period of pressure Sim Thandi put the ball into his own net.

The final nail in the coffin came in injury time when a penalty was awarded and James Walshaw sealed the victory.
