Defender Banks and midfielder Reeves have joined Rangers after they were let go by Stoke City and Port Vale respectively.

Banks used to be skipper of Stoke’s Under-23s while Reeves enjoyed a loan spell at Marston Road a couple of years ago.

“They’ve dropped out of the Football League but hopefully we can help them and, in turn, they can help us,” said Burr.

“Lewis became available after going on a few trials in Scotland.

“I managed to convince him to come to us and get himself in the shop window by playing well here.

“He was very highly thought of at Stoke but he wasn’t kept on, and hopefully that’s to our benefit.

“Billy has had a spell here before and he’s another one we’re pleased to get in.

“I’m looking forward to working with both of them.”

Boro begin the Northern Premier campaign at long last on Saturday, with a trip to Workington.

Burr has also added winger Joe Cuff, who impressed on trial, to the squad ahead of the clash.

He used to play for Market Drayton Town.

“Joe is different as he’s lad looking to find his feet in the non-league scene” added Burr.

“He is a bit raw but we may well have unearthed a diamond there.”
