Rangers beat Wolverhampton Sporting 3-1 to set up an El Staffico clash at Stoke’s Bet365 Stadium next Tuesday (kick-off 7.30pm).

Kitching – who is leaving at the end of the season – has won the competition once with Boro and would love to do so again.

“It would be nice, it’s set up lovely,” he said.

“It’s important we do our best to finish as high as we can in the league and try to get some silverware to go along with that, but it’ll be difficult.

“Hednesford have beat us twice in the league this season so we’re smarting from that a little bit.

“We’ve just to concentrate on doing well and hopefully winning the cup.”

Goals from Jack Sherratt, Kyle Perry and Massiah McDonald put Rangers on their way to victory at Marston Road on Tuesday, before Jon Letford pulled one back for Sporting.

Kitching had high praise for the side who should win the West Midlands League Premier title.

“They’re a good side, they surprised me a bit if I’m being honest,” he said.

“We knew it’d be tough, but I didn’t quite realise how tough. In the end, we just had too much for them. We were clinical, and that was the difference.”
