It was The Pics who came out of the blocks with purpose as Danny O’Callaghan’s strike within the opening minute was well gathered by the home ‘keeper.

Then O’Callaghan almost played in Dylan Parker only for his first touch to take the ball too far away from him.

The goal that we had threatened finally came on 12 minutes when Tyler Lyttle played a neat one-two with Messiah McDonald before getting in a cross that was deflected into the net.

We almost doubled our advantage soon after when O’Callaghan headed just wide from Ben Lund’s inviting cross.

As our dominance continued, Simeon Maye was brought down on the edge of the area to win a free-kick which Lyttle curled inches wide.

The home side started to get into their stride as the opening period went on and they were thwarted just past the half-hour mark by a brave defensive header from Hull.

We continued to look a threat on the break and Parker was unlucky with a lobbed effort that was hooked away from in front of goal.

The second period started with debutant ‘keeper, Ben Newey, saving well to deny a dipping effort from the home side. Then he was alert to bravely claim a pull-back under pressure as our hosts had the bit between their teeth.

We managed to stem the flow and then double our advantage when Parker threaded Maye through with a neat ball and he stayed calm to slot home for 2-0.

The home side were reduced to ten men on 66 minutes and as the resulting free-kick from Lyttle fell to Hull, he found the net to add to our hosts’ misery.

Orrin Pendly went close to adding his name to the scoresheet with a back-heel that was saved on the line following a melee in front of goal.

As the clock ticked down, Lyttle and Aram Soleman both went close but it ended in a 3-0 win and a good afternoon’s work by The Pics.
