The early action saw Joe Slinn forced into a smart save from a powerful volley from the home side.

Our first opening came in the 12th minute when an inviting free-kick from Ashley Sammons was met with a glancing header from Sam Whittall that landed just wide.

Sammons was heavily involved in the action as the first half went on as he had several attempts at goal as we looked to make the breakthrough.

The home side were reduced to ten men on the stroke of half-time when Matt Rutterford picked up his second yellow card.

There was a great chance for us early in the second period when Edwin Ahenkorah put in a teasing cross that found Ben Lund whose strike from close range hit the underside of the crossbar.

As we continued to apply the pressure, Simeon Maye had a low effort well saved before Whittall saw an attempt hooked off the line.

As the clock ticked down at the end, Tyler Lyttle put a good ball into the area where Danny Waldron got in a header that was superbly saved before a goalmouth scramble moments later saw the home side survive.

Our pressure finally told five minutes into stoppage time at the end when Gaz Singh saw his strike saved and youngster, Keiron Berry, was alert to force the ball home.
