Danny Waldron snatched a Southern League Central point for Rushall Olympic as they twice fought back from behind at Coalville Town.

Waldron headed Tyler Little’s cross into the roof of the net to earn the Pics a share of the spoils for the second match in a row.

Having opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Banbury United on Saturday – Waldron scoring a late leveller in that game too – Rushall fell behind in the first half of their first away trip of the season.

Tolani Omotola scored a penalty after Joe Slinn was adjudged to have committed a foul, but the Pics were behind for just four minutes until Joe Hull headed in Josh Hawker’s corner.

Omotola had the chance to restore the hosts’ lead with his second strike from the penalty spot, but Slinn this time guessed correctly to save. However, Coalvile still found their way ahead by the break with Tom McGlinchey curling home.

For a long time that appeared to be the winner – until Waldron’s intervention in the 95th minute.

Elsewhere in the league, Halesowen Town were unable to build on their opening-day win as they went down 2-1 to Banbury United.

All the goals came inside the first 16 minutes, with Banbury scoring either side of a James Roberts penalty.

Walsall Wood advanced to the preliminary round of the FA Cup after beating hosts Worcester City 3-2 in a penalty shootout.

Javia Roberts had put the Wood ahead in extra-time, only for Joe Bates to cancel that out with three minutes left.
