Dangerous Dan can fire up Rushall Olympic

Rushall Olympic have high hopes for striker Danny Waldron this season.

If their friendlies over the past few weeks are anything to go by, Waldron could well turn a fair few heads in the Southern League Central.

The Pics rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 3-0 victory at Bromsgrove Sporting – Waldron getting a hat-trick.

He also got the goal in a 1-0 win at Prescot Cables last weekend, netted in a 3-1 triumph over Coleshill Town and grabbed a brace against Wolverhampton Sporting.

Waldron is not the only dangerous attacker that Liam McDonald has at his disposal, though.

Veteran forward Justin Richards has joined after a short spell at Hednesford Town while creative midfielder Ashley Sammons – also formerly of the Pitmen – should chip in with a good number of goals and assists.

They start out by welcoming Banbury United to Dales Lane tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Stourbridge will be aiming to compete at the top end of the table.

Gary Hackett has stuck with the majority of last season’s side, with Leon Broadhurst and Luke Benbow still the key players.

The Glassboys have snapped up goalkeeper James Wren from Hednesford for an undisclosed fee. They head to Barwell.
