Pics debutant Joe Slinn was called into action early on, making a decent save by holding on to a powerful Craig Carney effort in the fourth minute.

Richard Brodie forced the first Lancaster save of the night when Joshua Powell tipped over a looping header from the front man on 14 minutes.

Rushall took the lead just a minute later after some fantastic work down the left from Danny Waldron. The wide man burst into the box and squared for Brodie, who slid in an effort past Powell in the Lancaster goal.

That lead was doubled on 32 minutes when the visitors failed to clear an Andre Landell cross in from the right hand side. The loose ball was taken down by Brodie, who calmly poked the ball in the bottom corner.

Slinn was called into action on 66 minutes as he made a wonderful double save. The first kept out Ryan Winder after he cut inside down the left but the second, from Mamadou Djabi, was even better as the on loan Port Vale keeper leapt up to save the rebound.

The result was put beyond doubt on 80 minutes when substitute Lewis Archer burst through the middle of the pitch and outpaced the Lancaster backline. The youngster kept his cool to place his finish perfectly into the bottom corner past the helpless Powell.
