Mickleover came out of the blocks fastest, and it was only a last ditch tackle from Joe Hull that diverted Jimmy Phillips’ goal bound effort onto the post on 2 minutes.

Rushall also had keeper Jahquil Hill to thank after the Bermudan international made a wonderful save low down to his right to keep out a Bilal Sahoud header on 13 minutes.

After a scrappy period of play it was Rushall who took their chance on 31 minutes after a superb breakaway from Tristian Dunkley and Majed Osman gave Charlie Duke the chance to scramble the ball past Mickleover keeper Lewis King to give the visitors a 1-0 half time lead.

Hill kept Mickleover at bay again on 62 minutes, saving a point plank effort through a ruck of players in the Rushall box.

Down the other end, Danny Waldron and Osman both went close after another blistering counter attack in the 75th minute.

The home side equalised a minute later, however, after sub Tevahn Tyrell got on the end of a John McGrath corner to nod home at the back post.

There was still time for Hill to frustrate Sports, with two more world class saves in quick succession ensuring the match ended a draw.
