The hosts started the game brightly, winning a couple of corners in the opening minutes, but chances were few and far between in the first half.

Stan Mugisha was causing problems for the Mansfield defence down the left and Craig Mitchell had a couple of snap shots blocked, but neither keeper was tested until an Andre Landell effort forced home keeper Jason White into action late in the half.

The Pics came out for the second half with more purpose, and Mugisha was unfortunate to see the ball ricochet wide after he charged down the keeper from a ball played in.

It wasn’t all one way traffic, however, and Jono Brown had to be sharp to keep out a Phil Buxton shot from the edge of the area for Mansfield.

Dom Dell also came close, seeing his 20 yard half volley acrobatically tipped over by White.

But it was Joe Hull who came closest to getting a goal, with a powerful header at the death tipped onto the bar by the excellent Mansfield keeper to earn the home side a well deserved replay.
