The former Wolves and Walsall winger, signed on an 18-month deal, is the first signature under the new owners and is the type of player that Pemberton has craved since the start of the campaign.

“Hopefully we can bring more of those kind of players here, that’s where I want to take this team to a place where we can get players like him, and make our actual quality better,” he said.

“I want better quality players, with more experience at this level and he certainly fits that bill.”

Pemberton is pleased to land Hemmings, having being impressed by the 28-year-old in his side’s 2-0 league win over Altrincham in September.

“We’re delighted to have him, because I think he will be an asset to us,” said Pemberton.

“When we played Altrincham earlier in the season, I know our supporters were talking about him, because he played well against us.”

“I thought we coped with him well as a team but certainly he is a ball carrier. He’s got good technique, hopefully he will create and score for us.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have him on board.”
