Kidderminster Harriers boss Steve Burr has absolved goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan of blame for Saturday's 4-4 draw with Vauxhall Motors.

Vaughan was drafted in as a free agent on non-contract forms for the original tie, with Tony Breeden cup-tied and Dean Lyness out injured.

The 30-year-old was beaten four times on his debut but Harriers came back from 4-2 down to force a replay at Aggborough tonight.

It's likely that Vaughan will again be between the sticks in his home bow, with Breeden again cup-tied and Lyness still not fully fit from a hip problem.

But boss Burr is confident his new custodian will do a job and refused to point the finger at him for Saturday's defensive frailities, with Harriers still unbeaten in six.

He said: "It's very important we get through tonight because we want to have a run in this competition - and also the right result continues our unbeaten run.

"If we create as many chances as we did at the weekend - we scored four but could have had a few more - then we know we can get goals.

"I was disappointed with us defensively but that is no slight on Nathan Vaughan, who I thought came in and did very well considering the difficulty of the game he was coming into.

"We just didn't work as a unit in front of him as well as we should, but we got ourselves the opportunity to have another shot at the tie with our second-half performance.

"Hopefully we can go one step further and get through to the next round."

Former Villa and England midfielder Lee Hendrie is also cup-tied tonight, after playing for Daventry earlier this season, while James Vincent is struggling with a knee injury.
