Hednesford Town cruised into the second round of the Southern League Challenge Cup last night, dispatching lower-league Coleshill Town 4-0.

While the Pitmen have made a storming start to the season in the Southern Central Premier, Coleshill entered the match with just four points in Southern Central One. And the visitors soon made their advantage tell, with Enoch Andoh following in his own free-kick that was spilled by the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 inside six minutes.

Hednesford stopper Jose Veiga had to tip the ball on to the crossbar as Coleshill rallied, but the Pitmen pulled away in the second half.

Brad Wells squared the ball to Tom Fry for a tap-in before helping himself to a goal shortly afterwards.

Ollie Waddison, Carter Lycett and Izak Reid then combined to tee up Wells for one more goal – the Pitmen’s fourth and final strike.
