Hednesford Town face Staffs rivals in cup clash

By Joe Edwards | Hednesford Town | Published:

Licking their wounds after the El Staffico defeat on Tuesday night, Hednesford Town are out to make amends in the world’s oldest cup competition in another Staffordshire derby.

Hednesford chief Rob Smith would love a cup run

The Pitmen are going up against Tamworth at Keys Park, where they were downed 3-1 by Stafford Rangers in the Northern Premier. Rob Smith will be desperate to avoid a repeat of the last two campaigns – being knocked out at the first hurdle.

Buoyant Stafford Rangers are going up to Grimsby Borough.

Defender Sam Coulson is undergoing a late fitness after picking up a knock in Tuesday’s triumph. Jack Sherratt is available despite being sent off after two yellow cards due to bans in non-league not coming into effect until seven days afterwards.
