Hednesford TOWN have parted company with manager Neil Tooth just seven games into the new season.

The news was revealed late on Wednesday night, with the club saying it came after two days of discussions between the parties.

The Pitmen sit 17th in the Evo-Stik Premier table with eight points.

A club statement read: “We would like to thank Neil for his efforts while at Keys Park and we wish him well for the future.”

Former Sutton Coldfield Town boss Tooth was only appointed in the summer when Gary Birch gave up the role due to work commitments.

But the Pitmen have won just two of their first seven games, although one of those was the Bank Holiday derby at Stafford Rangers. However, Monday’s 2-0 defeat at Stourbridge turned out to be Tooth’s final game in charge.

Former bosses Rob Smith and Larry Chambers, who left Telford in the summer, are being linked with a possible return to Keys Park.
