The Yeltz won four early corners before Mickleover went close in the 14th minute when Evan Garnett clipped the ball at goalkeeper Dan Platt.

Platt made a fine blocking save when Andy Dales was put through in the 32nd minute and both Evan Garnett and Bradley Grayson fired further Mickleover chances wide.

Before the interval Halesowen's John McAtee struck a long free-kick at goalkeeper Lewis King and Bradley Lewis also drove wide.

The Yeltz failed to trouble Mickleover goalkeeper King in a scrappy second period with the visitors going closest to breaking the deadlock.

Home goalkeeper Dan Platt made a good 56th minute save from Garnett and captain Jake Scott blazed the rebound high over the bar.

Platt made another fine save to keep out John McGrath's 20 yard low shot in the 58th minute and a header from Pablo Mills was flicked over his own bar by Enoch Ekongu five minutes later.

Platt was the saviour one again from the resulting corner as he produced a fine reflex save to keep out Alex Morris's header.

Halesowen were reduced to ten men in the 71st minute when Lewis picked up a second yellow card but the visitors failed to take advantage as Garnett planted another great chance over the bar after playing a one-two with Clinton Morrison.

Matters worsened for Halesowen when captain Ivor Lawton was shown a straight red card for an 82nd minute midfield foul but the battling nine men kept out the visitors to claim a point at the end of a forgettable Bank Holiday contest.
