In a fairly even first half, Bradley Lewis cleared off the line from Basford's Kieran Wells in the 27th minute and Halesowen's Luke Shearer blazed over the bar just before the interval.

But it all went wrong for Halesowen as Basford romped to victory after the break.

James Reid hit a low 46th minute shot home from the edge of the area after a defensive error and it was soon 2-0 when Liam Hearn poked home after Ashley Grayson headed Reid's deep cross to the far post against a static defence.

Hearn punished Halesowen again in the 53rd minute as he shrugged off the home defence to hit a low drive under goalkeeper Niall Maher. Well beaten

Halesowen were unable to respond as Basford coasted to victory through the rest of the game.
