Scholars pull out of Trophy

Chasetown have withdrawn from this season’s FA Trophy following a positive coronavirus case in the squad.

One of the players tested positive on Monday and as a result 29 people at the Northern Premier League South East Division club have had to self isolate.

Their league game with Newcastle Town was postponed on Tuesday and they will return to action against Stamford on October 24.

Saturday’s scheduled clash with Yaxley in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy cannot go ahead as the Scholars will not have the team ready to reschedule within the five-day limit, they have been forced to withdraw from the competition.

Meanwhile, Kidderminster Harriers’ National League North home clash with Alfreton Town on Saturday has been postponed following a positive coronavirus test which forced the Derbyshire club to pull out of the FA Cup as a result.
