It was another corner that lead to Chasetown’s opening goal. Whieldon delivered right footed and Matt Gardner powered a header beyond Russell Saunders.
Chasetown almost added a second near the start of the second half. Gardner and George Cater combined but Saunders saved at the winger’s feet.
The hosts doubled their lead when Gardner's shot came back off the post and Cater bundled the rebound over the line despite Saunders protestations that the ball hadn't crossed the line.
Glossop pulled one back five minutes with a goal from Matthew Russell and then were awarded a spot kick.
Against the run of play Russell converted the penalty sending Curtis Pond the wrong way.
