Chasetown returned to winning ways with an emphatic victory over their Staffordshire rivals.

Chasetown started brightly and Jack Langston was inches wide with a free kick after leading scorer Muzzy Nduna was fouled right on the edge of the box.

The Scholars took a deserved lead in the 28th minute when a Chris Baker throw in slipped out of his hands but Will Whieldon reacted quickly and hooked over a cross which Langston dived in to head home.

Grove were reduced to ten men when skipper Ross Davidson received a straight red card for tugging down George Cater who was clean through on goal. Whieldon’s free kick beat Dave Parton and struck the inside of the post with Oli Hayward quickest to tap home into an empty net.

Chasetown started the second half on the front foot and Langston made it 3-0 almost immediately after the restart.

Cater forced a stunning save from Parton but then made it four, sliding in at the near post to turn home an Nduna cross.
