There had been little indication of the drama to come after a poor first half in which the blustery conditions made good football difficult but six minutes before the break the visitors went ahead when Chris Henderson latched onto a pass from Adam Marriott and calmly slotted the ball past Matt Sargeant in the Pics goal.

It had been the only opportunity of the first half but things improved in the second half.

After Aaron Jones had whistled a twenty five yard shot past the post Ashley Sammons tested Alex Street in the visitors goal and the keeper was fortunate when the ball slipped though his fingers but out for a corner.

The home side eventually drew level eighteen minutes from time when Joe Hull swept home Tyler Lyttle`s low cross and nine minutes later they went ahead when Lyttle smashed home a free-kick from eighteen yards.

The drama continued when two minutes from time the visitors were awarded a penalty when substitute Massiah McDonald handled the ball but Sargeant made a fine save diving to his left to keep out Michael Clunan`s spot-kick.

Things got worse for the Linnetts a minute later when Aaron Jones was sent-off for a foul on substitute Ben Lund, who had only been on the field for seven minutes before being substituted, and shortly afterwards the final whistle went to complete a memorable second half for the Pics.
