Scott Dundas’s charges go into the Northern One West clash without a win at home. They are 18th out of the division’s 20 teams, with four points from seven games. Clitheroe are a place worse off.

“We’ve been fighting against everything so far this season – we’ve had quite a few injuries and suspensions,” said Dundas. “When you’re up there and flying, you seem to get no problems whatsoever.

“When you’re at the wrong end of the table, it all seems to pile up. We’re trying to find consistency. We’ve just got to keep working hard to get some points on the board.

“We’ve got the home advantage this weekend and hopefully the tide will turn sooner rather than later.”

The Scholars are again without striker Ryan Wynter because of injury.

On what kind of test Clitheroe will pose, Dundas added: “It’s hard to get up there and get them watched but They have good players and we’ll have to be at it right from the start.”

In the Northern Premier, Stafford Rangers travel to Bamber Bridge while Hednesford Town go up to Marine.
