Sporting clinched the West Midlands Premier crown with a 2-0 victory at Black Country Rangers on Tuesday night.

The win was their 15th in a row, taking them to 95 points. With three games left, including tonight’s against Smethwick at Hazel Lane, Paddock is determined to top a ton.

“We want to get as many points as possible from these last few games,” he said.

“The lads worked extremely hard to beat Black Country on Tuesday – we were down to 10 men for a lot of it (after Jamal Fuller was sent off).

“They were so determined and there was something really special about it all.

“To do it against one of your local rivals, who have a lot of your former players, it couldn’t have been scripted any better.

“It is unbelievable, what the lads have done. We’re all buzzing.”

Sporting have tonight’s clash with Smethwick to focus on before they will be presented with the league trophy – following Saturday’s home game against Malvern Town. They then end against Cradley Town, at home, on Monday.

“We want to win tonight, Saturday and Monday,” said Paddock.

“We’ve got a few lads carrying injuries so we’ll have to change things about for Smethwick.

“The schedule has been relentless recently so we’re glad it’s wrapped up now. We’ve ended our away campaign having conceded just nine goals, we’re looking forward to finishing it all off at home.”
