Sporting have been nothing short of spectacular so far this season, winning all 10 of their league fixtures – the latest being an 11-0 demolition of rock-bottom Wellington Amateurs on Wednesday night.

Tividale, who are fresh off successive relegations, are eight points behind in third and head to Pride Park tomorrow on the back of a 2-1 loss to Ellesmere Rangers.

“We are going into the game as the underdogs, which makes a change,” said King.

“Ellesmere was disappointing, we didn’t turn up – didn’t play well at all.

“We are looking forward to going to Wolves Sporting, they are the team to beat.

“In all fairness, they should probably be a division higher with the budget they have.”

He added: “Leagues are not decided in October, though.

“We have only played 10 games and every dog has its day.

“We are not going to be intimidated, we will make sure that we put up a fight – plenty of effort.”

Sporting boss Andy Paddock is refusing to get carried away by his side’s start and on Tividale, he said: “This is a real test for us.

“Tividale is the toughest game of the season so far.”

Another tasty encounter taking place tomorrow, which is Non-League Day, is Black Country Rangers against Wolverhampton Casuals.

Second-placed Cradley Town head to second-from-bottom Stone Old Alleynians. In the tier above, the Midland League Premier, AFC Wulfrunians are aiming to extend their winning run to four games as they welcome Westfields to the Castlecroft Stadium. Richard Forsyth, who took over during the summer, has done well so far in his first management job and the Wulfs are sixth after nine games.

One place above them are Sporting Khalsa, who are now set to play their home games at Castlecroft while work to convert their Aspray Arena surface to an artificial one takes place.

They head to Leicestershire side Quorn, looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Also in the division are Lye Town, who host league leaders Coleshill Town.

In Division One, Walsall Wood are top of the pile. They host Pershore Town.
