The coronavirus pandemic means that even if the top flight season is completed it will be done so in front of empty stands.

Season ticket holders will be given the choice of a refund or an e-voucher which can be used against future purchases or for donations to the Aston Villa Foundation.

The same criteria applies to those who bought hospitality packages, while supporters who held individual match tickets will receive a full refund.

Villa’s remaining home fixture list includes high-profile clashes with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, along with a Midlands derby against Wolves.

Dean Smith’s team had played out the campaign in front of packed houses after last season’s charge to promotion delivered a record number of season ticket sales.

Villa currently have 30,000 season ticket holders, along with a waiting list of 7,000, while this season’s average attendance of 41,661 is the club’s highest for several decades.

The club has now begun the process of emailing supporters, including claret and club members, with further information on how they go about claiming a refund on the missing matches.
