The 21-year-old Chelsea loanee became the first Villa player since 1966 to net four times in a league fixture during Wednesday’s remarkable 5-5 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Two of Abraham’s goals were scored with his head, a skill into which he has been putting extra time on the training ground with former Blues team-mate Terry, now assistant coach at Villa.

Abraham said: “JT is like a big brother to me. On Tuesday after training we spent an hour just working on my heading.

“It paid off on Wednesday, so when I scored I donated the celebration to him.

“He has always supported me ever since a young age. The first time I went with the first-team at Chelsea he put his arm around me and made me feel welcome and more comfortable.

“It is nice to have him as the assistant manager. He knows the boys well after playing here last season and he was a great leader for them.

“Coming here it is exactly the same and it is not like he has changed. He is still the same and like a big brother to everyone.”

Abraham, who has 10 goals in just 13 appearances since joining Villa on deadline day, also sported a shorter hairstyle in the draw with Forest.

He explained: “I just wanted to try something new. The other day I had a header which went over the bar so I said: ‘You know what? I am going to get a new trim!’

“I got one and scored two good headers. I will definitely be keeping it now!”

Villa head to Middlesbrough on Saturday evening aiming to continue a four-match unbeaten run, which has seen them plunder 14 goals.

“Teams will be looking at us and hopefully be scared,” said Abraham. “With the players we have here we will always create chances.”
