According to the Mirror, The Foxes have been scouting the Villa star extensively and see him as potentially key player to play behind Jamie Vardy.

Leicester could be set to offer £20m for the 22-year-old, who's been integral to Steve Bruce's promotion push this season, scoring three goals.

His sparkling form has earned him plenty of plaudits, with former Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie tipping him to become an England regular in the future.

Villa's surge into the play-off spots coincided with his return from a freak injury sustained in pre-season, with his performances against Cardiff and now-promoted Wolves earning rave reviews.

But should Villa fail to secure promotion this season, Grealish could be targeted by Leicester.

Steve Bruce has already been working to a tight budget in an effort to stay within FFP limits, and the midfielder could earn the club a huge sum, which could help Villa push for promotion next season should they fail this campaign.

The club currently sit fourth in the table, four points behind second-placed Cardiff and three points behind Fulham. They secured their spot in the play-offs following their 1-0 win over Leeds last weekend.
