Villa host the R’s aiming to build on the momentum created by Saturday’s superb 4-1 hammering of long-time leaders Wolves.

That result has sent confidence soaring among Steve Bruce’s squad but Jedinak admits they cannot afford to lose focus ahead of what could be another big night in the promotion race.

Second-placed Cardiff, who hold a four point advantage over Villa, face a testing trip to Brentford.

Jedinak said: “There’s no resting. It is literally recover and then prepare for the next game.

“But when you are on the sort of run we are, that is what you want.

“Everyone is on a high after Saturday but everyone is focused and not getting too carried away.

“We know we’ve got a responsibility on Tuesday night and we need to come out and give the same performance, same energy and same discipline to get us over the line against QPR.”

Boss Steve Bruce has warned his squad tonight’s game will be tougher than Saturday’s showdown with Wolves – a fixture for which players needed little in the way of added motivation.

Jedinak knows QPR boss Ian Holloway well with the pair having won promotion together at Crystal Palace in 2013.

And he said: “We expect a tough game, there’s no doubt about it.

“Ollie always puts his teams out to have a go so they will be on the front foot for sure and we’re going to have to be right at it to hurt them.”

“At this stage of the season you’ve got teams playing for different things and that’s always something to be wary of.

“With us being at home I think we need to focus on ourselves and on putting in another performance like Saturday.

“With the experience we have we will make sure everybody is right at it.”
