Aston Villa linked with chase for Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo

Ojo, 20, had a loan spell at Wolves scoring twice in 17 games with a mixed reaction from fans. He was recalled from Molineux by Liverpool last January and handed a competitive debut.

However, his stock has risen and he had been thought likely to move to Newcastle who had been quoted £10million to buy the England under-20 international. That price-tag has apparently considered high by St James’ Park chiefs for a player who has gone on to make only eight senior appearances for Liverpool.

Reports in the north west, however, have suggested Steve Bruce is hoping to jump to the head of the queue for Ojo with the offer of a season-long loan. Championship rivals Derby, Fulham and Middlesbrough are also interested.
