In a recent nationwide survey, it was revealed that the average Premier League footballer earns a whopping £2,438,275 a year, that's £46,889-a-week!

And with the TV money continuing to roll in, even the average Championship player can expect to take home £453,088 at a not too shabby weekly rate of £8,728.

However, in the current economic environment, some fans feel players should not be flaunting their status, while others believe everyone is entitled to a holiday.

Aston Villa and Wolves spent a staggering combined total of around £80m last season, only to finish a disappointing 13th and 15th in the Championship respectively.

West Brom's 10th placed Premier League campaign was commendable, and Walsall finished a transitional League One season in 14th.
