BREAKING: Aston Villa announce £4m Mile Jedinak signing

Aston Villa have signed Australian midfielder Mile Jedinak from Crystal Palace for around £4million on a three-year-deal

The 32-year-old, who was at yesterday's home game against Huddersfield Town, has been bought to bolster Roberto Di Matteo's central midfield.

Villa lost Idrissa Gana to Everton earlier this summer and Carlos Sanchez joined Fiorentina on loan, leaving the club short of a defensive midfielder.

Jedinak, who won promotion with Palace in the 2012/13 season, started for the Eagles on Saturday in their Premier League curtain-raiser against Albion.

But the experienced Aussie has left Selhurst Park to become Villa's sixth signing of the transfer window.

Di Matteo is eager to improve his squad further, and is eyeing up a loan deal for Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford.
