Aston Villa's Paul Lambert: Scoreline harsh on us

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert felt the 4-1 loss to Man United didn't reflect the performance of his side.

After the game, Lambert said "I didn't think there was much in that. The scoreline was pretty harsh on us.

"We were definitely a handful. I always felt we could get something out of the game."

Lambert rued missed chances despite his side taking a 1-0 lead through midfielder Ashley Westwood as his free-kick curled past United goalkeeper David De Dea.

"When you come to places like this, you have to take the chances when you get them," said Lambert.

"We're obviously disappointed about being beaten 4-1 but there's a lot to take out of the game."
