Aston Villa face wait on Ashley Westwood injury

Ashley Westwood was today set to find out the extent of an ankle injury which forced him to limp out of Aston Villa's draw with Swansea.

The midfielder was replaced by Barry Bannan with nine minutes left after a tackle with Swansea striker Michu and he will be assessed by the club's medical staff at Bodymoor Heath.

Villa manager Paul Lambert said: "Is it serious? It looks it at the minute. It's his ankle. He's hobbling about. It will be a blow if he's out because we have too many at the moment.

"We have some lads at the training ground, too. Hopefully, we can get one or two of them back very soon."
