Kidderminster Harriers see off Aston Villa kids in friendly

Kidderminster Harriers picked up a pre-season victory over a Villa XI in front of 1,527 fans at Aggborough last night.

In a side that featured a number of trialists, John Pemberton’s team prevailed 3-1.

Ashley Chambers put Harriers into the lead, finishing off a neat move from a low Milan Butterfield cross to the edge of the penalty area.

The lead was doubled in the 36th minute when Ed Williams swivelled on the edge of the Villa penalty area and curled a shot home past goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo.

Villa upped the pressure before the break and were rewarded with a goal back in the 43rd minute through Rushian Hepburn-Murphy.

The third goal arrived via a pair of Kidderminster youngsters, with under-23s player Scott hitting the post just before he turned in a cross from under-19s left-back James Dutton.

Things would end on a sour note for Villa when Bazeley Graham was stretchered off.
